A story of enthusiasts since 1936
From the post-war revival to today’s digital training programmes, 75 years of recreational aviation on the shores of the Bassin.
Aviation enthusiasts founded the ACBA on a grassy field near the Bassin.
The club established a permanent base at Arcachon-La Teste Airport (LFCH).
The ACBA was granted Approved Training Organisation status by the DGAC.
The arrival of the Aquila AT01s, modern and economical training aircraft.
350 active members, 7 aircraft, a thriving flying school — and still the same passion.
All volunteers, not-for-profit. Fees cover actual costs; there is no profit margin.
Certified ATO school, qualified instructors, personalised support for every student.
Private Pilot Licence (PPL), trips around Europe, aerobatics, night flying, VFR mountain flying — there’s something for everyone.
Flying over the Bassin, the Dune du Pilat and Cap Ferret — a privilege we’re proud to share.
As well as flying, the ACBA is a community: summer barbecue evenings, friendly general meetings, group outings to regional aerodromes, participation in national gatherings (RSA, Paris–Cannes, etc.), and annual open days. Our instructors also organise advanced training courses and annual refresher courses.
